Senior Massage
As part of my practice I feel it is important to offer Senior massage services to our aging population. But what exactly do I mean by 'Senior' massage?
Associated Bodyworker and Massage Professionals (ABMP) describes it best "Today, massage in all its forms is at the forefront of alternative and complementary therapies utilized by millions of people. Senior massage encompasses basic relaxation and stress relief and is also a beneficial tool in fighting many of the symptoms of aging. Massage is an accepted part of many physical rehabilitation programs and has proven beneficial to many chronic conditions such as low-back pain, arthritis, and bursitis. Massage helps relieve the stress and tension of everyday living. Senior massage can increase blood circulation, combat depression, improve balance and flexibility, reduce the pain of arthritis, increase joint mobility, improve posture, and encourage overall well-being."
Here is a short list of how massage can benefit you or the senior in your life;
-
Improves range of motion.
-
Decreases low-back pain.
-
Increases circulation, allowing the body to pump more oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs.
-
Provides exercise and stretching for atrophied muscles.
-
Reduces swelling and scar tissue.
-
Reduces recovery time from injury/surgery.
-
Reduces stress, a major contributor to disease and ill health.
-
Releases endorphins, the body’s natural painkiller, thereby reducing the need for medications.
-
Stimulates lymph flow and supports the body’s natural process of detoxification.
I offer Senior massage at my clinic everyday at a Super Senior discount of 15% off the regular price. Of course you are free to pick from any service on the menu but if you're not sure what suits you then I would suggest the classic Swedish massage.
"Kelly offers senior massage to the residents at the senior living facility where I work. Our residents love her. They are happy about the personalized sessions that she offers. Kelly is highly professional and takes the time to get to know her clients. She offers individualized appointments. Some of our seniors prefer to receive their massage on a massage table while others opt for chair service. Some clients prefer deep pressure while others prefer very little. Her goal is to make her clients comfortable and relaxed. As a repeat client myself I highly recommend her." Kristin Williams

“I am a veteran to massage. I have a back problem and have used massage regularly throughout my lifetime. Kelly is by far the best, most professional massage therapist that I have used.” Arden Melick
“Kelly offers the best massage that I have ever received. As a senior I was nervous to get a massage because I wasn’t sure how much pressure I would like. Kelly makes me feel very comfortable communicating to her throughout session what feels best. I highly recommend her.” Tom O’Rourke
